GWER appoints its own Technical Advisory Board

We are pleased to announce the appointment of its first Technical Advisory Board, comprising of 4 exceptional leaders who bring substantial  breadth and depth of knowledge in the field of education as well as in social development arena. The technical advisory board will help strengthen and broaden the scope of our new practices.

The purpose of the Technical Advisory Board (TAB) will be to advise on matters pertaining to the  mission and vision of GWER and help us in making strategic decisions and developing strategic partnerships. The TAB focuses on improving the quality of work delivered by GWER through regular technical scrutiny and brainstorming.  The advisory board will undeniably be able to help guide and shape the future of GWER.

Harish Doraiswamy is Director-Edtech at Central Square Foundation where he works with state governments on Edtech strategy and implementation in schools. Prior to joining CSF, Harish was Vice President at Pearson with South Asia responsibility for K12 Government Projects, K12 Schools Management, Vocational Education Projects and Academic and Vocational Qualifications. 

He brings over 30 years of cross-country cross-functional and cross-sectoral experience, of which over a dozen have been in education. Besides his work with Central Square Foundation, Harish is also a Board Member at Milaan Foundation and Meghshala Foundation. He is also a consultant with the Asian Development Bank. Harish is an alumnus of IIT Madras and IIM Calcutta.

Rajendra Bhanwat

Mr. Rajendra Bhanawat is currently the chairperson of NGO Sandhan, Trustee of Doosra Dashak (a large-scale educational initiative in Rajasthan) and Vice Chairman of Rajasthan chapter of Transparency International India. He is also a member of the executive committee of Prayas and a member of the advisory body of CUTS and Vidayashram. He has been appointed as high-court commissioner for homeless people in Rajasthan. 

He brings over 38 years of experience in public administration in various capacities and at various levels of government from district level to state level including as Director, Literacy and Continuing Education, for which he received NLM-UNESCO awards in 2000 for outstanding achievement in the field of literacy. He holds a double master’s in Science (MSc.) in Physics and Mathematics and diplomas in French language and Labour laws.

Mr. Sanjay Sharma is a practising advocate at Delhi High Court, district courts and various tribunals for about 31 years. He is also an honorary corporate trainer, imparting training in various managerial and legal fields all over India for over 25 years.

He is a board member of the National Institute of HRD and advancement as well as Khrist Raja Secondary School. He heads a law firm which has a strong commitment to providing free and /or subsidized legal services to those who cannot afford representation through their dedicated pro-bono practice. He is an alumnus of Delhi University and holds B.Com(Hons), LLB & LLM and MBA academic degrees all from Delhi University.

Ms. Meena Katyal is currently the principal of Khrist Raja Secondary School, who began her journey as a Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT). She considers parents and community members to be the pivotal partners in the education process and works hard to develop a collaborative working relationship with all the key stakeholders involved in the journey of educating children. 

She is the recipient of ‘Excellence Award’ by the Directorate of Education, Government of Delhi and NCD in 2016-17 as well as of “National Teaching Excellence” award presented by the International Association of World Peace in 2014. She is an alumnus of Delhi University and holds a bachelor’s in education (B.Ed.) from the Regional College of Education, Ajmer, Rajasthan.
